Corylus avellana

Native to Europe and western Asia, from the British Isles south to Iberia and Turkey, and east to the Ural Moutains, and northwestern Iran. Common hazel is reaching 3-8 m tall; the leaves are deciduous, rounded, 6-12 cm round and across, softly hairy on boath surfaces. The fruit is a nut.
